Philanthropy

One dollar of each online order will be donated to Cookies for Kids' Cancer, a non-profit organization committed to raising funds to support research for new and improved therapies to fight pediatric cancer, the number one disease killer of children in the U.S.

Cookies for Kids' Cancer was founded in 2008 by Gretchen and Larry Witt, parents inspired by their son's ongoing battle with pediatric cancer. In 2007 when 2-year old Liam was diagnosed with a deadly form of pediatric cancer called Neuroblastoma, his family learned quickly it is a cancer that only 30% of children survive from. They were shocked to hear the reason for such terrible odds was directly related to how little money was being spent on research by both the government and the pharmaceutical industry.

Determined to get involved and change the funding gap, Liam's mom, Gretchen, organized a holiday cookie sale with a team of more than 250 volunteers who baked and sold 96,000 cookies. The sale raised more than $400,000 in support of a promising pediatric cancer treatment and led to the founding of Cookies for Kids' Cancer.

Cookies for Kids' Cancer provides the inspiration and support for individuals, communities, and businesses to help in the fight against pediatric cancer. Through the simple concept of holding a bake sale, individuals and business have the ability to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to directly support research at comprehensive cancer centers across the country; research that would not take place without support from private organizations and philanthropies like Cookies for Kids' Cancer.
